I sailed on Sovereign and Monarch of the Seas. Sovereign was my favorite ship. Monarch was her sister ship but didn't exactly look or feel like the same ship. I wish they would go back to that style ship because the new ones are too large. Jewel of the Seas is as big as I'll go.

NCL lavished funds on her passenger accommodations while woefully neglecting her engines which led to the terrible tragedy that unfolded

I also went on Sovereign of the seas Maiden Voyage I loved RCL cruises back in the day

My 1st cruise was on Monarch in 2012! It was a great experience and my wife and I had lots of fun inside the ship. RIP

Sailed on the monarch of the seas for my honeymoon in May 1994. Went on the Sovereign and majesty. All beautiful ships. In Fodors or Frommers, it described the ships as floating Hyatts. It set the standard for the huge ships to come along. They were smaller ships but beautiful

This was my first cruise in the early 90s. I remember getting a trip manifest - a book with the names and hometowns listed of all the passengers. It was an amazing time.

My honeymoon was on the Tropicale back in April 1986. I have such fond memories of all the fun we had on this ship. Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas…it was an amazing adventure.

I took my honeymoon on Sovereign. It was my first cruise, I had no idea what I was in for. She was still fairly new and simply spectacular. I'm glad to learn she lasted longer than my marriage did!

QE2 took the ocean liner baton from SSFrance when she entered service in 1968 until passing it on to the mighty Queen Mary 2 in May 2004. QM2 plies the waves as the last of the ocean liners.

The Sovereign was me and the wifes very first cruise. 4 day to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. That was September 2002 and the biggest thing I remember was how tiny the staterooms were. Loved hanging out in the Viking Crown lounge too though.

I am so touched to see this video. I am from Germany and met my wife in 1996 in Miami, where I live now since 2005. We spend our honey moon trip on this fantastic cruise liner in October of 1998. I am out of words. We can see us still laying next to the pool. It makes me cry. Thank tou for this memory ! ❤

I sailed on the SS France in 1973 with my mom and sister. I still have numerous souvenirs, such as menus, luggage tags, tee shirt, daily newsletter, etc. It was a fantastic experience and I’m so glad we did it!!

I was on the France in the early 60's when my parents to it from NY to Italy.

I am glad I was able to cruise on her in 1988...

What happened to the 2 missing people?

We’ve sailed in Monarch 3 times and has always been my favorite. I have a poster of Monarch on the wall of my den still to this day. I loved that the godmother of the Monarch was Lauren Bacall❤️

I've Googled a special trip that I was on but cannot locate that voyage. Saab Corporation chartered Sovereign of the Seas in 1990 and treated their sales force and headquarters group to a seven day Caribbean cruise. There were about 1500 Saab people onboard and I was there working with a travel planner onboard. Had my own cabin and was comped everything. Dolphin cheerleaders sailed with us and what a party!!!! Wish I could locate a reference to that trip.

I was on this ship ...it was an older ship by that time...much smaller than the newer offerings....but absolutely perfect....not too many people and nothing was ever crowded

I spent my honeymoon December 98 on Tropicale . We sailed to Mexico, Grand Cayman . My marriage didn’t last a year. Should have pushed her off the boat! Live and Learn!

Honey moon in oct 99. Worst experience ever. Fire on boat the month before. Carpet was wet and smelly. Sewage was backed up in showers and toilets. To beat it all wife and I got food poisoning! Ruined me from ever taking Carnival again.

I was born in France and came to America on the SS France in 1965, sadly too young to remember it. My folks talked about the luxury of the ship, the celebrities they met and winning a bottle of Channel # 5 on the crossing. Wish I had an actual memory of the ship, but your video is the next best thing.

I enjoyed watching your video, it brought back memories of sailing to Mexico on Tropicale in 1985.
